My dad and I always had big dreams to start a company together, we eventually got there but it took a lot of hard work and dedication. Before Quality Closets Designs, I was working at Target but the opportunities at Target were not enticing, and I knew I could achieve more. I left Target and started working as a helper in another closet company. I quickly became the best helper in optimizing the process to easily help the installer. Being the best at assisting people was something that I learned from my mother, she was a huge influence to me and gave me great work ethics.
I had my daughter in 2007, it was then when my cousin told me about the opportunity to have my own business in the closet world by buying second-hand machines. I was a little skeptical at first, but thankfully my dad went ahead and bought them. He had a business vision that he knew we could accomplish. While this was happening, I was still working at another company at the time, so my father had to wait for me to cut material. My dad was working independently and looking for clients on his own.
In 2008 I decided to quit my job and fully focus on helping my dad to make something out of this business. My dad bought a house in 2008, and a little bit after that he decided to go back to Peru for a while, it was then when I took over and kept the business going.
My dad came back from Peru and he saw how I had optimized and improved the business. He was very proud of me and knew the business was in good hands. I got some financial support from the bank and used that to buy new machines, facilitate some processes, and improve the business.
Today, the company is on solid ground, we’re continuously trying to improve ourselves, and the best part is that I am now making opportunities for people, who just like me came looking for a better future.

I was born in Peru, my family and I moved to the US 15 years ago. I was raised in a humble and loving home with many siblings, we were all taught that if you work hard then you can achieve anything.
My first job in the US was for a hotel as a housekeeper, I then moved on to cleaning multiple properties, but none of these jobs gave me that satisfaction of owning something. I wanted to learn new things and just improve myself to better supply for my family. It was then when I started working with a closet company, I took the skills that I learned from working here and I thought there was a lot of potential for me to create a business.
At first, it was just me and my older son, then I started bringing my middle son as well to some jobs and eventually even my youngest wanted to get involved and help. At some point it got a little overwhelming for myself, and I decided to hire my first helper, and from there I realized that we may be able to turn this into a real company. We hired a few more people and my oldest son (Arturo) came into the picture full-time. My son made sure that the company was running like a well-oiled machine, he created a structure for the company, procedures that will save us a lot of time and overall just made the company a much better one.
I'm very proud of what he accomplished with what I had started. He is now running the company as I am getting ready to retire in the near future. Don't worry, you will still see me around doing some consultations.
